I started climbing at the age of 7 in Santa Cruz, California and competed internationally to represent the USA Team in multiple disciplines, including the 2009 World Games. In 2014, a broken ankle awoke me to the world outside of “just climbing”, where I spent the subsequent next several years learning to work with a community through the at-risk youth program “Escalando Fronteras” in Mexico. Wanting to expand the network’s support EF to similar programs, I established MBB as a nonprofit in the USA.

Alma Esteban

Based: Everywhere

A rock climber from Mexico, Alma is fluent in English, Spanish and French. She’s a graduate from the University ITESM (Mexico) with a major in International Business, has a Masters in Local Development Management from France, and now devotes her time to community projects in their many forms, often volunteering for social causes and networking internationally.

Alma brings her experience of international aid, an academic fervor, superb team working skills and her natural bubbling enthusiasm to the heart of MBB.
